YFC Travel

If you ever dreamed of jetting off in search of adventure, but weren’t quite sure where to find it, then NFYFC could help. We offer our members all sorts of excursions including exchange visits, team travel, working holidays and adventure holidays - each one lets members broaden their horizons on a brand new adventure.

Since the dawn of YFC, thousands of young farmers have donned their hiking boots, unearthed their sense of adventure and slapped on the sun cream for the discovery of a lifetime with YFC Travel.

What type of trips are available to YFC members

Applicants can apply for a wide range of travel opportunities, including Homestays, Working Scholarships and Team Travel opportunities, not to mention our amazing YFC Ski trip. Club members can also welcome and host Young Farmers from all over the world.

Rural Youth Europe Seminars

Join young farmers from across Europe and make new friends for life. Rural Youth Europe (RYE) is an international youth organisation, bringing together rural young people from more than 20 countries. Their main aim is to help rural young people share ideas and experiences and promote an awareness of rural issues.

Team Travel with Projects Abroad

Not sure about heading off on your own? Why not choose a team travel trip and you can share your adventure with other YFC members from across the country. Projects Abroad is the world’s largest provider of international volunteering, internships and meaningful travel experiences. They have been running for over 25 years and have been trusted by over 120,000 participants who’ve joined their award-winning trips. Destinations have included: Nepal, Peru, South Africa & Costa Rica to name but a few!

Working Scholarship in New Zealand

Every year, NFYFC partners with the C Alma Baker Trust to sponsor four YFC members to take the trip of a lifetime — a three-month working placement at Limestone Downs, an extensive sheep, cattle and dairy farm on New Zealand’s North Island. So if you are looking to expand on your practical agricultural experience, combined with a big adventure, this is the trip for you!

The YFC Travel programme is supported by The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, which you can find out more about here. The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust has proudly supported NFYFC since 2002, enabling members of Young Farmers' Clubs to experience unique travel opportunities, receive expert training and realise their dreams. The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust has given nearly a quarter of a million pounds to help young farmers and in the last 12 months more than 1,500 YFC members are expected to benefit from this support. Also supporting the YFC Travel programme is the Young Farmers Ambassadors (YFA); a group of current and ex-young farmers who have travelled to an other country through the International Young Farmers Exchange Programme (IFYE) or have been at the European Rally. Anyone who travels with YFC can become a YFA member. Once signed up, the possibilities of further travel and banter is endless, meeting new friends and catching up with old ones.

Jetting off with YFC Travel offers a chance to experience another way of life by living it. See new places, make new friends and soak in another culture. It's an adventure that will pay off for the rest of your life. But don't just take our word for it! Learn more about what some of our previous adventurers have experienced through our YFC Travel Presentations.

If you are interested in travelling with YFC or would like the opportunity to host an incoming exchangee, please contact your County Office or email NFYFC for further details.
