Future of farming

NFYFC organised a series of events around the country to gather the views of YFC members to feedback to Defra on hatt they thought the future of farming should look like and what they wanted to see in new agricultural and environmental policies.

The process of leaving the European Union means that new agriculture and environment policies for the UK must be put in place. British food enjoys a reputation for quality which has been built on high animal welfare standards, strong environmental protections and the dedication of farmers and growers to meeting consumer expectations.

It is a once in a generation opportunity to transform our food and farming policies and improve our environment and it’s vital young farmers were part of this process.

The AGRI Steering Group launched its final position paper on Considerations for a Future Agricultural Policy before the series of regional discussion groups.

The next generation’s opinion for a future domestic agricultural policy has obvious significance and the position paper offers a range of collaborative opinions to help underpin a sustainable and robust rural environment.
