Over the Saturday and Sunday of the bank holiday weekend Gloucestershire Young Farmers set out from Toddington, Winchcombe traveling 50 miles across Gloucestershire to Horton, South Gloucestershire, pulling a Massey 35X. 

Battling through thunderstorms and heaving up hills all in aid of The Great Western Air Ambulance, the route was very challenging and even County Chairman Sam Adams had to question wether he had been too ambitious setting the task.

First stop for Andy on his tour this year was at Skirlaugh YFC. Lots of people, from all age groups, attended the evening as Andy talked through various aspects of farming and answered questions posed to him from the Young Farmers (and some parents!)

Local stallholders were desperate to secure a place at Staffordshire Young Farmers Clubs’ annual Christmas Shopping Evening.

The event was the third that the Clubs have held and they’re developing a great reputation.

A favourite activity amongst YFCs, as the new year approaches, is to produce a calendar that raises money for charity.

One such club is Stowmarket YFC in Suffolk, who have come up with a brilliant calendar for 2016, which features a three-wheeler similar to the one made famous by 'Del Boy' in the TV sitcom Only Fools & Horses.

Selby YFC in Yorkshire is holding a 'Sizzling Show Day and Dance' in July to celebrate the club's 65th birthday. The show will take place on Saturday 4th July at Fir Tree Farm in Wistow.

The day-long event will consist of a wide variety of attractions, including a Tug of War competition, stalls of crafts and local produce and a display of vintage tractors and combines.

The event will then go into an evening dance, which usually attracts between 300 and 500 people.

It was a stroll down memory lane for Wiltshire YFC as old and new members joined together at the county's annual rally.

Hundreds of Young Farmers, past and present, descended upon Widleys Farm in Malmesbury to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Wiltshire YFC and take part in a variety of competitions - including the much-coveted Past Members Shield.

Young farmers from East Riding YFC pushed a bath nearly 60 miles to raise funds for two charities. The 12 members of Winksley-cum-Grantley Young Farmers Club set off with the specially-made aluminium bath from Ripon Market Place and passed through Thirsk, ahead of an overnight stop at Helmsley. The team, who are aged 15 to 21, finished the three-day marathon at the beach at Scarborough on Sunday (March 29).

Young farmers swapped their usual flat caps for eye-catching headwear, joining thousands of others across the UK taking part in Wear A Hat Day.

Buckingham Young Farmers got into the charity spirit by donning a dazzling display of hats including sombreros, a festive crown, baseball caps, Egyptian pharaoh-style, cowboy, and a Bajan hat made from dried leaves.

Two Young Farmers' Clubs in Cumbria joined forces to give its members the trip of a lifetime to Las Vegas. 

Lamplugh & Egremont YFC made the once in a lifetime trip to the 'Entertainment Capital of the World' in October 2014, which included an exciting helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon.

A group of Norfolk Young Farmers are preparing for the ultimate triple-endurance test, all in aid for a local cancer charity.

Harleston YFC’s 'Big 3 for Big C’ will see Young Farmers cycle over 600 miles on an exercise bike (the distance from Land's End to John O'Groats), use a treadmill to run 385 miles (the distance between Norwich and Paris) and complete 215 miles on a rowing machine (the length of the river Thames). Money raised will be donated to the Big C, Norfolk’s Cancer Charity, which has helped thousands of people in the county cope with cancer.

The unlucky day for some of Friday 13th February proved the opposite for some Staffordshire and Derbyshire YFC members, with 5 pairs successfully securing dates at Uttoxeter Young Farmers charity “Take Me Out” night. The evening, compeered by Uttoxeter’s very own Paddy McGuinness, Mr Chris Hall, saw some of Staffordshire’s finest take to the stage in an attempt to gain a date and help raise money for the Air Ambulance.
