The Farm Safety Foundation

The Farm Safety Foundation was established by NFU Mutual in 2014 as a charity to help the farmers of the future work safety.

The Foundation is working closely with Young Farmers' Clubs, the NFU and a range of farming organisations to help raise awareness of farm safety among young farmers, challenge and change their attitudes towards farming safely and reduce the toll of injuries and fatalities which bring heartbreak and misery to numerous families and rural communities every year.

Over the coming years the Foundation will continue to conduct research, mount safety awareness campaigns and provide training for young farmers and those embarking on their journey into agriculture. The Foundation will also continue to work closely with the Farm Safety Partnerships of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The charity is represented by a pair of yellow wellies and asks young farmers to consider “Who would fill your boots?” if they were to be affected by a serious or life changing injury or fatality

What are The Farm Safety Foundation and NFYFC doing in 2016?

The Farm Safety Foundation and NFYFC are working together to engage, educate and inspire Young Farmers with farm safety and raise awareness of the Yellow Wellies Campaign. This work has been spearheaded by members of the NFYFC Youth Forum who are now our Farm Safety Ambassadors, attending various Country Shows, industry tradeshows and Farm Safety Days
