National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs

Fun, Learning, and Achievement

Since the dawn of YFC, thousands of young farmers have donned their hiking boots, unearthed their sense of adventure and slapped on the sun cream for the discovery of a lifetime with YFC Travel.

NFYFC offers all its members the opportunity to take part in YFC Travel - a unique programme of exciting trips, home stays and working exchanges to destinations around the world. The programme is supported by The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, which you can find out more about here.

Jetting off with YFC Travel offers a chance to experience another way of life by living it. See new places, make new friends and soak in another culture. It's an adventure that will pay off for the rest of your life.

But don't just take our word for it! Learn more about what some of our previous adventurers have experienced through our YFC Travel Presentations.

What type of trips are available to YFC members?

Applicants can apply for a wide range of travel opportunities, including Homestays, Working Scholarships and Team Travel opportunities, not to mention our amazing YFC Ski trip. Club members can also welcome and host Young Farmers from all over the world.

Homestay trips
A YFC homestay is unique. It allows you to experience a totally different way of life; if you want to be totally immersed in another culture by living as a local, and not just through city sightseeing, then a homestay could be right for you!

Homestay trips last from two weeks to three months and you will stay in the home of a member of a rural youth organisation in the country of your choice. It’s a great way to make new friends and experience rural life in a different country - but be prepared to get stuck in to get the most out of your trip!

Working Scholarship
Every year, NFYFC partners with the C Alma Baker Trust to sponsor four YFC members to take the trip of a lifetime — a three-month working placement at Limestone Downs, an extensive sheep, cattle and dairy farm on New Zealand’s North Island. So if you are looking to expand on your practical agricultural experience, combined with a big adventure, this is the trip for you!

Rural Youth Europe Seminars
Join young farmers from across Europe and make new friends for life. Rural Youth Europe (RYE) is an international youth organisation, bringing together rural young people from more than 20 counties. Their main aim is to help rural young people share ideas and experiences and promote an awareness of rural issues.

Team Travel
Not sure about heading off on your own? Why not choose a team travel trip and you can share your adventure with other YFC members from across the country.

“At the end of an unforgettable week I had made eight new special friends, had a wealth of information about another culture and can safely say that the YFC Travel programme is one of the best aspects of YFC.” Arwel Evans from Pembrokeshire joined seven other Young Farmers on a trip to Kenya.
