The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK. It heads a nationwide body of 624 Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFCs) throughout England and Wales.

Led by young people, for young people, YFCs provide 25,000 members aged 10 to 26 with a unique opportunity to develop skills, work with their local community, travel abroad, take part in a varied competitions programme and enjoy a dynamic social life.


Youth Development Officer - NFYFC

Hours - 37.5 hours a week

Duration - Permanent

The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic youth development officer to join the team. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate curriculum based youth work and training programmes which result in clear learning outcomes.  Candidates will have good interpersonal skills, the ability to establish positive relationships with young people, youth leaders and supporters.  They should be passionate about working with people and in particular the needs of young people as well as being flexible in their approach with a broad range of stakeholders.

The post holder will report to the Development and Training Manager and as part of a team will develop a range of youth work and training programmes and resources.  The team also provides guidance and support to County Young Farmers’ Clubs and its members on a policy issues.

In addition candidates will be experienced in:-

  • Implement safeguarding procedures and handling enquiries.
  • Devising support material and training sessions.
  • Championing the needs and well being of young people and adults at risk.
  • Working with volunteers/supporters.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be expected to liaise with members, volunteers, colleagues and county staff.   You will be required to record data, produce reports and correspondence as required, using appropriate ICT packages.

The successful candidate will work well as part of a team and show enthusiasm with a creative approach to their work.

The post is available full-time (37½ hrs/wk) and is based at the NFYFC Office, Stoneleigh Park, Nr Kenilworth, Warwickshire, although travel throughout England and Wales will be occasionally required.
