Stay Connected

Not being able to see some family and friends during social distancing restrictions can start to have a negative impact on our mental well-being. It’s important to find new ways of connecting with people during the crisis – and your YFC can play a big role in making this happen.

If you haven’t already, your YFC could be hosting a weekly meeting through an online platform such as Zoom, WhatsApp or FaceTime. The free Zoom service is ideal for more formal committee meetings – just make sure you follow normal meeting guidelines regarding setting an agenda and minuting information. You can get more guidance on how to do this here.

For a more informal get together, your YFC could consider online quizzes, fun challenges or even regular phone calls or texts to stay in touch.

Even if you’re not meeting at the moment, keeping your YFC’s social media channels up to date is important as members might be looking for information and support. NFYFC will be sharing lots of activities and challenges, so you can share these posts and encourage members to get involved.

You can also see more ideas about ways to stay connected in the YFC Activities section here.
