The National Farmers Union (NFU) is offering 76 YFC members the opportunity to attend the 2012 NFU Conference free of charge.
The 2012 NFU Conference will be held on 21/22 February 2012 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham - www.theicc.co.uk/locationtravel - and the Next Generation session this year will form one of the three major workshops on the second day of the conference. Three cross-party Cumbrian MPs will address the group – Tim Farron, Jamie Reid and Rory Stewart.

YFC places will be allocated on a regional basis, but each county must be represented. Your chosen representatives’ details should be submitted to the appropriate regional NFU contact which can be found here: 106-11-ARAC NFU Conference 2012.  (For your information, NFU branches must contact the NFU regional offices if they want to take up the places.)

Please follow the procedure outlined on the paper and note the earlier final submission date of  9 November 2011.

2011 YFC Regional Link Day

Practical tips for supporting the Campaign for the Farmed Environment on your farm

Friday 25 March 2011

Billow Farm, Breadstone, Berkeley, Gloucestershire, GL13 9HF

Open to all YFC members

  • Find out more about your industry campaign
  • Make informed decisions for your farming future
  • Free advice, information and farm walk

The YFC Regional Link Day offers YFC members practical farming tips to support the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE).

The Campaign is just over a year old but has done much to raise farmers’ awareness of the environmental benefits that their land can deliver.

The CFE is the farming industry’s chance to demonstrate that this voluntary approach can work better than regulation and that you are best placed to decide on, and tackle, your local environmental priorities, without intervention. But if the farming community cannot step up and achieve these results voluntarily the Government will have to consider a compulsory approach to deliver these same benefits.
