Fun, Learning, and Achievement

12 April 2017

Defra is encouraging and supporting NFYFC's regional agri discussion groups over the coming months to ensure that your voices are heard.

Why? To focus on your future vision of agricultural policy

What happens first?  Defra holds engagement events for everyone – these are the high level engagement events taking place from May to July across the country focused on the future vision of agricultural policy.

What happens for YFCs? YFC regional events, specifically focusing on young farmers’ issues, are currently being devised (dates and venues to be confirmed)

What now?

  • There’s a ‘warm-up’ discussion after the main AGRI Forum 2017 at Annual Convention with NFU Vice President Guy Smith, Agri Steering Group Chairman Harriet Wilson and NFU Next Generation Chairman Richard Bower on Saturday, 22 April at 12.45 pm, Riviera Centre, Torquay.
  • Make a date to attend as many of the Defra events listed as you and your YFC members can – it’s your future, make sure you have your say!
  • Keep an eye out for news of YFC regional discussion meetings on the NFYFC news page and from NFYFC’s social media posts.

To see all details, dates and venues for the Defra discussion groups, please see the invitation from Defra.
