Bwlch & Crickhowell YFC hedging champs
The weather was kind to the competitors and spectators who turned out for Brecknock YFC’s annual hedging match, which saw competitors demonstrating two different styles of hedging: stake and pleach, and farmers.
Judges were looking for cleanliness of pleaching, strength against stock, finish and firmness, as well as a good top line during the competition, which was sponsored by Trefor Prothero.
The champion hedge of the day went to Andrew Rees and Baden Powell, from Bwlch & Crickhowell YFC.
