Appeal for support for Welsh European Rally team
Five members of Wales YFC will be heading off to Sweden on the 31 July to represent the organisation at the Rural Youth Europe European Rally.
The opportunity to attend the European Rally is one of the travel and learning opportunities offered by Wales YFC to its members as a part of its international programme.
Team leader Gwennan Davies, of Llanwenog YFC, in Ceredigion, said that preparations were already underway for the summer trip and that the members were looking forward to sharing ideas and promoting Wales and YFC at the rally.
“One event at the rally is the international buffet, where all of the countries represented create a stand to promote their country and attendees are able to sample a variety of local food and drink.
“Last year the Welsh team gathered valuable support from companies of all kinds across Wales, which resulted in a spectacular Wales stand. We would like to have a similar stand once again this year and that is why we are appealing for Welsh businesses to support our team.
“We are looking for any kind of support – no matter how small or how large,” added Gwennan.
The rally this year themed ‘DIY in the countryside: think global, act local, be vocal!’ will focus on employment and entrepreneurship as a tool in preventing unemployment and depopulation of rural areas.
