Ticket information
Unfortunatley this event is only for those members aged 18 and over, however if you are under 18, you can attend the pantomime competition on Sunday afternoon, and feel free to come along to the AGM on Sunday morning!
Note: YFC members who are under the age of 18 and are in the teams for the NFYFC finals of the Street Dancing or Jump Rope competitions taking place on Saturday 28 April, can of course gain entry to the Riviera Centre for the competition final. The competitions officer will make contact with these finalists to make special arrangements to escort these members in and out of the venue.
Click here for 2012 convention ticket prices.
NFYFC does not allocate a specific amount of tickets for each county. Tickets are also on sale at the registration desk at the event for those members aged over 18 and on the database by 16th March.
The closing date is the 16th March 2011, so make sure you have your membership card ready!
Yes. Competitors only may buy tickets after the 16th March closing date (lucky you!). Their names must appear on the competitions entry forms.
(Applications for discounted convention packages for competitors in the performing arts final may be made and sent to NFYFC immediately after the semi-finals have taken place on Sunday 25 March 2012. These bookings are for cast members only and are checked against cast lists, and must be made by the close of business on Monday 2 April 2012)
Contact your county booking officer to buy your tickets.
Yes, so long as your wristband is valid on Saturday and or Sunday. Friday only wristbands are not valid for entrance to the Theatre. Note: Theatre only tickets are available for both members and non members (eg. family/supporters)
We will only accept cash or card (No cheques, IOU's, or monopoly money -sorry!)
You must be on the National database by the 16th March to get into the event, if you are not on the National database, you will not be allowed to buy tickets on the day (yes, even if you registered yesterday, have a piece of paper with your county organisers signature on it, are the county chairman, can phone your organiser, have their e-mail, have a fax from them personally, have the T-shirt... you still won't be coming in if you are not on the database! )
Only if that person is a registered member by the 16th March, has their membership card and some ID with them, and is over 18 years old
One-day tickets are available beforehand at the advance sales price and on the day at the full price. Competition spectators will need to contact the NFYFC office to order tickets to gain access to the competition only. Spectators won't be able to attend the event itself.
No package, no party!
Wristbands
Definitley! You can do this on the day, but you will pay on-the-day prices for the upgrade - so book early to save some pennies!
No refunds or swaps can be made after March 16th. This means if your friend turns up with your package, they will not get in! (If you wish to make swaps before this date, you must contact your county office in advance)
If you return your broken wristband to the registration desk, with your valid membership card and ID, you can buy a replacement wristband for £5. If you lose your wristband a second time, you may be asked to leave.
If you lose your wristband, you'll have to buy a new package at the full package price, subject to a database check. You may also face a 30-minute cooling-off period before being let back into the Riviera Centre.
If you have your wristband removed from you by a security guard, you may not be allowed to buy another.
To buy a replacement wristband you must have your membership card, a second form of ID (passport, driving licence) and your name must be on the national database.
Membership cards and ID
If you turn up without your current membership card you won't be allowed into the event, which will make you look really silly infront of your friends. On the upside, you will get to spend some quality time with the NFYFC staff and security guards at the entrance point!
If your photo isn't on your card, is defaced, or isn't a true likeness of you, then you won't be allowed to collect or buy a wristband (this includes pencil drawings, and photos from magazines).
You'll have to pay a £10 fine, show your passport or driving licence, and sign your card in front of a member of staff so that we can compare your signature to your ID.
Yes! Your wristband and membership card do not prove you are over 18.
Bars will accept only valid ID for serving alcohol which must now, by law, include a hologram (passport, driving licence).
Opening times and admission details
Click here to see the convention programme for times. Don't be late!
The entrance closes at midnight every night. There will be no admission after that, no matter how inventive the excuse!
The venue cloakroom charges £2 per coat.
Early in 2011, the NFYFC Council decided that in order to attend the annual convention, all individuals MUST have been a member of a YFC for at least SIX weeks prior to the event.
For the 2012 event this means anyone attending convention MUST BE fully a subscribed member by 16 March 2012. Entertainments packages can still be bought on the day but the database will be closed on 16 March, so members must have a current membership card and their details must have been loaded onto the database at their county office by that deadline.
