Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) is the national umbrella organisation for 38 Rural Community Councils throughout England. It aims to promote healthy, vibrant and sustainable rural communities that are well-connected to policies and initiatives at all levels.

British Food Fortnight is a national celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces. It is one of the most high profile events on the national calendar and is certainly one of the most powerful in engaging the retail, catering and education sectors.



CAAV

The Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) is a national specialist professional body representing more than 2,000 agricultural and rural valuers. Its members provide professional advice and valuation expertise on issues affecting the countryside.



The Countryside Foundation

The Countryside Foundation for Education (CFE) is an educational charity that aims to bring the countryside into the classroom with its online teaching resources, and the classroom into the countryside with its Estate Day and Countryside Live events programme.



The Commission for Rural Communities

The Commission for Rural Communities (CRC) provides well-informed, independent advice to government and ensure that policies reflect the real needs of people living and working in rural England, with a particular focus on tackling disadvantage.



EFFP

English Farming and Food Partnerships (EFFP) is a membership organisation committed to championing collaboration across the farming and food industry by working directly with farmer-controlled businesses, small farmer groups, agri-food companies and farmers.



Environment Agency

The Environment Agency is a government body that aims to minimise the effects of pollution on the environment. It issues permits to monitor and control activities that handle or produce waste, provides information on waste management matters, and deals with water issues.



Farm Crisis Network

The Farm Crisis Network is a national charity that provides pastoral and practical support to people in the farming community during periods of anxiety, stress and problems relating to the farm household and business.



Farming Futures

Farming Futures aims to provide information and inspiration for farmers and land managers to learn more about climate change. Fact sheets and case studies will help you learn more about the impacts, opportunities and risks of climate change on your farm, and what other farmers are already doing.



The Farmers Club

The Farmers’ Club is a fellowship for those involved in UK agriculture. Members have access to club facilities in Whitehall, London, as well as papers, seminars and talks delivered by members and non-members. The under 30s section has its own programme of events.



Farms for Schools

Farms for Schools (FFS) aims to ensure that school trips to farms are safe, enjoyable and educationally worthwhile. FFS members have to meet required standards in the provision of facilities and educational resources, and receive advice about good practice.



Government Offices

The Government Offices represent the 11 Whitehall Departments and are the primary means by which a wide range of Government policies are delivered in the English regions. You can access the nine Government Office regions via the website.



Health and Safety Executive

Landex is an association of further and higher education colleges that specialise in land-based and related subjects. The Landex website has a useful ‘Find a college’ button.



Leading Edge

IGD is a charity that educates people in the food and grocery industry and Leading Edge is IGD’s development and networking forum for these managers. Membership is free and relevant to all those involved in food production and associated industries.



NCFI

The National Care Farming Initiative (NCFI(UK)) aims to promote and support the expansion of care farming throughout the UK. Care farming is the use of farms and agricultural landscapes for the promotion of physical health and mental well-being.



Regional Development Agencies

England’s nine Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) are non-departmental public bodies, whose primary role is to strategically drive forward economic development within each region. You can access your RDA through England’s Regional Development Agencies’ website.



RSPB

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a UK charity that works to secure a healthy environment for birds and other wildlife. It has more than one million members and each year works with approximately 4,000 farmers to support their vital conservation role.



Scottish Association of YFC

The Scottish Association of Young Farmers’ Clubs (SAYFC) is the country association for YFCs in Scotland. It has 96 clubs and 3,000 members.





Wales YFC

Wales YFC is the country federation for YFCs in Wales. Wales’ 157 clubs are affiliated to both Wales YFC and the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs for England and Wales (NFYFC). Wales YFC has 6,000 members and 12 county federations.



Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster

The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) is the country association for YFCs in Northern Ireland. It has 65 clubs and 2,500 members.
