Young Farmers hope for bumper crop after using their peddle power on monstor bike

Worcestershire peddle power
A toned-team from Bromsgrove Young Farmers Club (BYFC) showed us their brawn, after taking to the roads for a Christmas Big Bike Ride on a giant 23-seater bicycle! BYFC cycled an 15 mile route, from Droitwich into Worcester and back, on Sat 24th November, raising over £1,500 for St Richard's Hospice, in Worcestershire, which cares for patients and families with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

BYFC Chairman Katie Brian (from Wychbold) said:" It's was great fun, a real team builder and we were overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. Heads certainly turned as we cycled along on this huge bike. If anyone would like to join our lively group (between 10 and 26yrs) please come along to our New Members Evening at Stoke Prior Village Hall, on Weds 28th Nov at 8pm or call me on 07980 237381”.

Worcestershire companies Ayletts Skip Hire, Bert Summers Welding & Fabrication, E Terry Groundworks, Probar Services, Redditch Skip Hire and Fews Marquees (all ex. BYFC members) generously sponsored the hire of the bike for the day. This kindly let the current BYFC members have a unforgettable day and ‘put something back’ into their old club.

Alison Weston, Community Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice said: “We are delighted that Bromsgrove Young Farmers have decided to support St Richard’s Hospice once again. They are a wonderful group of young people who have supported not only us but also other charities throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who has supported them, including the White Hart at Fernhill Heath, Worcester for the delicious steak baguettes.”

If you are interested in hiring this monster bike or smaller versions, please call Alison Weston, Community Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice on 01905 763963 or email comminityfund@strichards.org.uk for more information. 14, 16 and 24 seater bikes available for hire, delivered, fully roadworthy and insured.
