National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs

Fun, Learning, and Achievement

12 March 2013

Young Farmers across the country were embracing YFC’s competitive spirit this weekend, with area competition finals taking place in the East Midlands, the South West and the South East.

Around 3,000 Young Farmers attended the events, which were held in Skegness, Weymouth and Kent, with the weekend providing a fantastic chance to meet other members from different counties.

The competitions programme is at the heart of YFC and members compete in county, area and regional rounds before reaching the National finals.  This weekend saw members competing in a variety of competitions, such as public speaking, rugby and netball, drama, cheerleading and ballroom dancing.

There are also a few light-hearted competitions thrown into the mix - Weston and Banwell YFC took first place in the Sandcastle building competition on Weymouth beach! [pictured]

All of the National competition finalists will be announced once the final Area weekend has taken place next weekend.
