Fun, Learning, and Achievement

One lucky Young Farmer was given the opportunity to experience first-hand the future of farming at Massey Ferguson's 'Vision of the Future' event in France.

Helen Reeve, from Harleston YFC in Norfolk, was invited on an all expenses paid VIP trip to Beauvais, home of Massey Ferguson, after winning a competition organised by the tractor and harvesting giants back in July. 6,000 people from 40 different countries attended the event.

During her three-day trip, Helen visited the Beauvais cab factory where tractor cabs are made to order for specific ranges of tractors throughout the day. She also got to drive the very latest range of Massey Ferguson machines on a tractor test-drive track.

Helen, a former Chairman of Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee at NFYFC, said: "I can't thank Massey Ferguson and their team enough for their generosity and hospitality on my trip to Beauvais. They really pulled out all the stops to make the three day trip memorable and it was an experience I will remember for a long time. I visited with the UK and Ireland representatives but there were also farmers from the Middle East, Iceland and Finland who were all keen, like myself, to see what Massey Ferguson have on offer.

"I attended seminars where I learnt more about the vision of what Massey Ferguson plan to work towards in the future such as driver-less tractors and the range of various horsepower machines that will be launched. There was also the opportunity to learn more about hybrid barley, Trelleborg tyres and irrigation techniques in France.

"Later on in the year, Massey Ferguson and Trelleborg tyres are combining forces to take a Massey Ferguson tractor across the Arctic so they really have quite a challenge on their hands! I met some interesting people, saw some brilliant pieces of machinery, sampled some fine French food and was welcomed into the extended family of Massey Ferguson on my trip. Thanks Massey Ferguson for an adventure of a lifetime!"
