Pontrilas YFC of Herefordshire pulled out all of the stops to enjoy huge success at the NFYFC's national Tug of War finals at the Tenbury Show.

The club (pictured right) claimed victory in the final of the men's competition with a hard fought win over last year's champions, Whitley Chapel YFC of Northumberland. Earlier in the day, the club's youngsters covered themselves in glory by finishing second in the junior competition, narrowly losing to Crucorney YFC of Gwent.

It was yet another successful day for Wales' Young Farmers, with the ladies competition being won by Trecastle YFC of Brecknock. The Welsh club claimed victory in the final over Haldon Group YFC in Devon, who went on to compete at the National Outdoor Tug of War Championships. Haldon Group YFC also represented England in the Ladies 560kg at the British and Irish Outdoor Tug of War Championships in Llandrindod Wells in August.  The team recently received bronze medals in their first season of the National League for the Ladies 520kg and 560kg.
