The results are in and members have told NFYFC that they love the membership magazine Ten26 – but have suggested some useful improvements too.

Ten26 scored highly with members: - 92% of respondents wanted the magazine to be posted to their homes, 90% like the design and two thirds read it every issue. More than two thirds shared the magazine with their parents too, showing Ten26 is a publication read by the whole family.

Despite the positive scores, there were also helpful suggestions on what members would like to see more of in their magazine. Ideas included more agricultural content, more careers advice and lots more club and member profiles so others could be inspired.

One respondent said: “More about people’s backgrounds and achievements, everyone has an interesting story, which might not always be heard.”

The YFC Buzz also received some constructive feedback too with many members asking for the newsletter to be refreshed and to be made easier to read on mobile phones.

One respondent said: “Make sure more people are encouraged to sign up to receive the email, for example, I did not know it was on offer but will now sign up to it.”

The feedback from the 2016 survey is now being used by the staff team and will be shared with the Events and Marketing Steering Group to help guide membership communications.

The team are already working on a relaunch of Ten26 in the new year and a new look for the YFC Buzz, which will include suggestions that have been made by members in the survey.

Everyone who completed the online survey was also entered into a prize draw to win an Apple Watch, thanks to a prize provided by HOPS Labour Solutions. The lucky winner was 16 year old Katy Hargreaves from Pendle YFC, Lancashire. Katy who lives on her family’s hill sheep farm in Burnley was excited to hear she had won the watch.

“I hadn’t heard of HOPS before this but now I know they are an agri recruitment company I will be showing my watch off and telling everyone about them,” said Katy who completed the online survey after seeing the link on Facebook. “I am really pleased to have won as I was looking at getting an Apple Watch with my Christmas money to use when running and horse riding. Now I can buy some new shoes instead!”
