Oh yes they did. Once again, Golden Valley and Whitley Chapel YFCs have made it to the national finals of the NFYFC Pantomime Competition after another nail-biting round of semi-finals this weekend.

Golden Valley, from Herefordshire, performed their version of ‘Weather We Will or Weather We won’t’ in Weston Super Mare and were up against some stiff competition from Marshwood Vale YFC and the Cornwall and Buckinghamshire federations.

The tension was equally high up North as Whitley Chapel, Biggleswade, Drigg and Buxton YFCs battled it out at the Majestic Theatre in Retford. But it was Whitley Chapel YFC, representing Northumberland, who came out on top with a patriotic performance of Brian Rider’s St. George and the Dragon.

The two clubs will be joining Welsh winners and last year’s champions, Builth Wells YFC from Becknock, for the National Finals in Torquay on the 29th April. Tickets are available from NFYFC, £10 for adults and £5 for children.

NFYFC would like to say a huge thank you to our judges from the Guild of Drama Adjudicators, host counties and to the event sponsor Robert Wiseman Dairies.
