Award nomination for Worksop YFC chairwoman

Worksop YFC chairwoman Vicky Brightmore was thrilled to be a finalist in the Nottinghamshire Young Person of the Year competition for her work running her YFC.

A member of Worksop YFC for about 10 years now, since joining, 25-year-old Vicky has held every role in the club and has sat on various committees at county level. As well as being current chairwoman she’s also county rally vice chairwoman and East Midlands area chairwoman.

The club started with just seven members and a weekly pub visit, but Vicky has built it up to 25 members enjoying a full programme of scheduled meetings and activities. Worksop has since taken part in most county competitions, with members competing at area and national levels and winning the county rally in 2009.

Vicky said: “I was very flattered with my nomination. It feels great to know that people are aware of the effort and dedication members have towards YFC.

“It is fantastic to see Worksop YFC grow from a small, dormant club to one which wins competitions and is thriving.”

Vicky received a cheque for £50 for getting through to the final round of the competition. “It has been put into Worksop YFC’s charity account to be used when we next donate money to charity,” she said.
