Australia Bicentennial Committee

This fund was set up by a group of people who raised money in the West Midlands Area to endow a visit to Australia each year.  Financial assistance towards airfare is available for up to £600 for a Discovery participant.


Betafence

Betafence is world market leader in fencing solutions, access control for perimeter protection and wire mesh products for a variety of industrial applications. It supports NFYFC through the provision of equipment for the fence erecting competition.


 

 

 

British Youth Council (BYC)

BYC empowers young people to have a say and be heard on the issues that affect them. NFYFC works with BYC to encourage YFC members to have a voice on a national youth council bringing the rural dimension into consideration. YFC members also have the chance to input into the BYC national manifesto.


Brook

Brook is a sexual health charity for young people which provides free and confidential sexual health advice and contraception. NFYFC is working with Brook to raise awareness of sexual health and to support YFC members to access sexual health provision. Brook attends the NFYFC annual convention to give information, advice and guidance on all aspects of sexual health.



 

 

C. Alma Baker Trust

Charles Alma Baker owned a rubber plantation and then a farm in New Zealand. Trustees run this farm and offer the unique opportunity for four Discovery delegates to spend three months each working as part of the team at the farm, Limestone Downs on the North Island of NZ. The farm is 7,954 acres (3129ha) and is run as a sheep and beef property. The trust pays for flights, insurance and VISAS. 

CLA

The CLA safeguards the interests of those responsible for land, property and business throughout rural England and Wales. A YFC representative sits on its agriculture and land use committee. The CLA also hosted the NFYFC farm business development competition at the 2010 Game Fair.


Children's Rights Alliance for England

CRAE protects the human rights of children by lobbying government and others who hold power to get the voices of children heard. NFYFC is working with CRAE to support our work on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Work with CRAE also supports the development of the NFYFC youth forum.


Defra

The government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs supports NFYFC’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Forum, regional link days and the national final of the farm business development competition. It is also a supporter of Fresh Start.


Diageo

Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks business with an outstanding collection of international brands across spirits, wine and beer. As part of its corporate social responsibility and to promote enjoying drink responsibly, Diageo is working with NFYFC to provide training for YFC members that run bars; interactive training workshops on enjoying drink responsibly; and awareness-raising drama productions for YFC junior members.

EBLEX

Eblex helps the beef and lamb industry boost its competitiveness and promote its products. Eblex works with NFYFC to promote good stockmanship practice among young producers and produces a stockjudging guide for YFC members.


Farmers Guardian

Agricultural industry newspaper Farmers Guardian supported NFYFC during 2010 through its sponsorship of the Senior Ambassador of the Year competition. A member of its editorial staff sits on the judging panel of the competition.
 
 
 
 

HOPS Labour Solutions Ltd

HOPS Labour Solutions is a Home Office-appointed operator of the Seasonal Agricultural Workers’ Scheme (SAWS) and runs its own Seasonal Workers Programme (SWP). HOPS underwrites a number of NFYFC’s key services.


Host families

As part of the Discovery programme, YFC members and their families host incoming exchangees from all over the world; this is an opportunity for the exchangees to really experience life in England and Wales.

Sponsored the printing of the programme of events at the NFYFC annual convention in 2010. 




NatWest

NatWest is supporting NFYFC's new training library, the Curve, through sponsorship of marketing material including a brochure, web page, certificates and flyers. The bank is also making its agricultural managers available to give advice on a range of topics to YFCs.



NAAC

The National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) represents UK contractors who supply all types of land-based services to farmers, government, local authorities, sports and recreational facilities. It supports various aspects of the NFYFC competitions programme.


NFU

The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) champions British farming and provides professional representation and services to more than 60,000 farmers and growers. It offers NFYFC a place for a YFC representative to observe the business of its national council.

 

 

 

 

 

NFU Mutual Charitable Trust

NFU Mutual is a provider of insurance, pensions and investments. The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust has funded the mailing of NFYFC’s newsletter Ten26 for the past seven years.


 

 

Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF)

RABDF provides a venue, help and support for NFYFC's stockjudging competitions. 


 

 

 

 

Robert Wiseman Dairies

Robert Wiseman Dairies has supported the NFYFC annual convention for a number of years, by providing free milk and sponsoring the performing arts competitions finals and other resources.



Rural Youth Trust


Savills

Savills Rural is focused on the commercial needs of landowners, farmers and rural businesses with 22 dedicated rural offices around the country and over 200 professionals. Savills works closely with NFYFC across the country supporting young people in the countryside. Savills also supports NFYFC's farm business development competition and tenancy training days.

Sue Ryder Care is sponsoring NFYFC's Rural Apprentice competition in 2010 and 2011. 


 

 

Torbay Cab Company Ltd

Torbay Cab Company Ltd provided sponsorship for the printing of contact cards for the NFYFC annual convention in 2010.

Tenants Farmers Association

The Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) is the only organisation dedicated to the agricultural tenanted sector and is the voice of tenant farmers. It sponsors the national final of NFYFC’s farm business development competition and supports NFYFC's tenancy training events.


TH White Grasscare

TH White Grasscare Division has supported the NFYFC 2010 ATV safety and handling competition final through the loan of the ATV and ATV trailers used for the NFYFC competitions held at the Royal County of Berkshire Show, Newbury Showground. TH White Grasscare is part of the TH White group of businesses which trades in Berkshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Provides support for NFYFC's national tug of war competition finals.

Young Farmers' Ambassadors

YFA is an alumni of YFC members who have participated in the international programme.  Members pay an annual subscription, part of which is donated to go towards administering Discovery.  As well as financial assistance, YFA members provide support to the Discovery programme by helping at the selection day and provide ongoing support throughout the year.



 

Young Minds

Young Minds is the voice of young people’s mental health and wellbeing.  NFYFC is working with Young Minds to produce resources to help support YFC members with mental health issues.
