Be part of shaping the future of your industry

Have you noticed how fast the world changes? Just as we get used to Blackberries the smart phone and the i-pad come along to knock it off the top spot. As soon as we improve access to education so that more people have the chance to go to university, we see a huge rise in masters courses and doctorates as student have to become more competitive.

The world is designed for change. The human race is always looking for the next big thing, the latest development and the people with the skills to create the new world we’re always hunting.

This has never been more true in the agricultural world. Climate change, a growing global population, land and water shortages, peak oil and food security are all putting pressure on farmers to adapt and improve. At Farming Futures we're really interested in how the UK farming sector can flourish in a climate changed world.

But has anyone asked you ? You’re the people who will be working and living in this climate changed future – what do you think? What do you want? How would you like to shape the industry? Well, now’s your chance to have your voice heard and be part of shaping the future of your industry.

By 2030 the food system will need to be low carbon, resilient, environmentally restorative and sustainable in social and economic terms. We'd like to know your thoughts and feelings about the future of the agricultural industry. Are you prepared for the change we’re likely to see? Are you excited about your future or worried about having the skills to survive in a carbon constrained industry?

We’ve designed a short survey to ask all this and more. It shouldn't take you more than 10 mins to complete, and one lucky person will win a year's FREE subscription to Spotify for their trouble. Not bad!

We’re going to use the results to help shape a big piece of work we’re doing on the future skills farmers may need. This work will go in front of leaders and decision-makers in the agricultural industry. SO, don’t be left out of your own future and fill out the survey here.

The survey will close on 31 January.
