Train the Trainer

"Help others achieve their dreams and you will achieve yours" (Les Brown)

Are you passionate about Young Farmers? Have you gained more skills through Young Farmers’ Clubs than anywhere else? Are you keen to see your organisation running successfully?

If your answer is yes to all of those questions then it could be time for you to attend the NFYFC Train the Trainer Course (TTT).  As one of NFYFC’s core training courses TTT supports those who have gained from the Federation and want to give back. A highly regarded and well established course, TTT forms the backbone in learning needed to support members, associates and staff with the development of their organisation.

Specifically written and designed to meet the needs of NFYFC, this course equips attendees with the knowledge needed to plan, deliver and evaluate training; it also looks specifically at the planning and delivery of Club Officer Training and The Curve modules.

In addition to offering a bespoke learning opportunity, this course is also accredited by The Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL) and everyone who successfully completes the course will receive the internationally recognised qualification ‘Introductory Certificate to Training Delivery – a great addition to a CV for anyone interested in training and developing others within their job role.

Who can attend?

Ideally those attending will previously have held Club Officer positions. It’s developed for current members and associate members who are interested in developing and delivering YFC training following the course. Staff members may attend this course with the prior agreement of their County.

What will the course involve?

The TTT course will be conducted at a level 2 standard (GCSE Level) and will include a full weekend of training. Applicants for the course must be happy that they can work at this level and must be able to attend the full weekend.

The course will follow ITOL and NFYFC course requirements and will have the following learning objectives:

  • Identify the immediate learning needs of individuals
  • Write learning aims and objectives in line with best practice
  • Analyse tasks and design training activities to facilitate the learning of those tasks
  • Instruct on a one to one or small group basis using appropriate demonstration and constructive feedback skills
  • Facilitate a group training session which uses activities such as role play, simulation or group discussion
  • Assess and evaluate immediate learning
  • Consider YFC training needs
  • Understand how to deliver The Curve
