With the Christmas season in full swing, Ashford Young Farmers’ Club in Kent teamed up with Perry Court Farm to prepare and deliver 20 Christmas hampers to the elderly community in and around the Ashford area.

The young farmers gathered on Wednesday 4 December to hand select a wide array of wonderful seasonal products from Perry Court Farm who generously subsidises the club’s annual Christmas hamper scheme. The hampers were then decorated and delivered to nominated members from Ashford’s elderly community on Saturday 7 December.

Jess Weeks, Ashford Club Secretary, said:

“Christmas is all about giving and we always try to support the less fortunate members of our community. This can be a difficult and lonely time of year for the elderly people we donated hampers to, but our deliveries gave them some Christmas joy and many were grateful for someone to talk to.

“We are extremely appreciative of the help we received from Perry Court Farm. I would especially like to thank Heidi Fermor who ensures that every year all of our hampers are generously filled with the very best produce. We could not have done it without her.”

Ashford Young Farmers’ Club meets every Wednesday evening and is open to anyone between the ages of 16 and 26. Visit http://www.ashfordyfc.co.uk for more information.
