Two Young Farmers' Clubs in Cumbria joined forces to give its members the trip of a lifetime to Las Vegas.

Lamplugh & Egremont YFC made the once in a lifetime trip to the 'Entertainment Capital of the World' in October 2014, which included an exciting helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon.

The two clubs united at Cumbria's Northern District AGM in January 2014 to organise the Transatlantic trip, in which 13 people signed up.

Staying at the Excalibur hotel, the group took in all of the attractions that Las Vegas has to offer within the five-day trip, including taking a gondola ride at the Venetian, attending a performance of Cirque du Soleil and, of course, trying their luck at the city's world famous casinos.

But the main event was the 45-minute helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon.

Lucy Agnew, of Lamplugh YFC, said: "We arrived at the airport in style, being picked up in a limo, which was a surprise to the members. We landed for half an hour which gave us a chance to have a look round, take photos and check up on the latest news which was in the Farmers Weekly. It was a great way to take the Canyon and the natural environment."

Matthew Harper, also of Lamplugh YFC, said: “I was overwhelmed with the whole holiday, Las Vegas was absolutely amazing and would love to go back at some point.”
