Full programme of activities at winter fair for Wales YFC!

Wales YFC will hold a full programme of activities at the Welsh Winter Fair and for many of the Wales YFC members the lure of the Winter Fair is just as strong as that of the Royal Welsh Show.

The Wales YFC activities will kick off on the Sunday with the arrival of stock for both the best prime lamb producer competition sponsored by Dunbia and the Wales YFC NatWest Calf Rearing Competition. A full programme of competitions will then follow over the two days, FUW beef and lamb stockjudging, Randal Parker Foods carcass judging, Eiddwen Garage ATV challenge, lamb trimming and a decorate a Christmas tree in conjunction with the Forestry Committee of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society.

£800 will be awarded to the winner of the Wales YFC NatWest Enterprise Scheme which has seen high quality applicants with businesses entered ranging from a bed and breakfast company to an ATV business, a DJ a design company, a Welsh shop and a pig rearing business.

The follow on award to the highly successful Agri-Environment award, the Young Innovator with Natural Resources, sponsored by Dulas will be presented on the Monday of the Winter Fair. In its first year, the award has proved to be popular with 8 entries received.

Members of the Wales YFC lamb marketing scheme will be present at the Hybu Cig Cymru stand on the Tuesday to explain more about the scheme in partnership with Dunbia and Sainburys, which gives them the opportunity to supply the Sainsburys stores in Wales with their lamb.

The Wales YFC promotional trailer will be located at the Dyfed Carmarthen Hall and members of the public are encouraged to visit the stand where the charity of the year, Mind Cymru will be present to promote the message of mental health to passers by.

There will also be a chance once again for the members over 18 who will be staying for both days of the Winter Fair to join us at our dance which will be held at the White Hart Pub in Builth Wells on the Monday night of the Fair; starting at 9pm.
