That’s entertainment!

Close call: Clynderwen YFC won the Pembrokeshire entertainment competition in 2008 and went on to be placed second at the Wales YFC finals, just one mark behind the winners.
Hundreds of youngsters from across Pembrokeshire are preparing to put their talents on display for a thoroughly entertaining competition.
The Pembrokeshire YFC Entertainment competition takes place over three nights next week promising plenty of laughs, singing and dancing to suit all ages and tastes.
The competition requires clubs to stage an original variety show that showcases the wide range of talents their members – who are all aged from 10 to 26 - have to offer.

County organiser Dill Williams said: “The entertainment competition is a fantastic showcase for our members because anything goes, from singing, dancing and sketches to magic, instrumental performances, drama – anything the members come up with can make it to the stage. The highly original ideas never fail to impress and amuse every time the competition is staged, making it a great spectacle for everyone.”

Ten clubs will battle it out for a coveted place in the final on February 24th, where four clubs will perform their shows once again in the hope of lifting the best overall performance trophy.
The prelims kick-off on Wednesday, February 16th with performances from Llawhaden, South Pembs, Keyston and Brawdy YFCs. On Thursday, February 17th Eglwyswrw, Hermon and Tiers Cross will take to the stage, with Clynderwen, Fishguard and Llysyfran completing the line-up on Friday, February 18th. All performances take place at Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard and begin at 7pm. Everybody is welcome to attend.

Four clubs will then be chosen to perform in the final at Ysgol Bro Gwaun on Thursday, February 24th when they will be competing for the best performance trophy, along with awards for best individual, best act, best costumes and technical achievement, as well as the chance to represent Pembrokeshire in the Wales YFC entertainment finals.
Dill added: “The performances are open to everybody – in fact the more the merrier as the response from bigger audiences will really give our young members a boost as they take to the stage.”
