“Wales YFC eisteddfod committee elect officials for forthcoming year!”

The Wales YFC Eisteddfod committee has elected its chairman and vice chairman for the forthcoming year.

The Eisteddfod committee, is one of the Wales YFC sub-committees and is responsible for discussing a number of issues regarding the event including suggesting judges and set pieces and setting the programme of competitions.

Heledd Owen a member of Uwchaled YFC, Clwyd has been elected as chairman of the committee and Joy Cornock a member of Fishguard YFC, Pembrokeshire has been elected as vice-chairman of the committee.

Heledd, who is a Primary School Teacher at Ysgol Bro Tryweryn, Frongoch, is an active member of her club and has held the posts of Club Secretary in the past years. She was also the County Chair in the past year and has represented both her club and county in numerous competitions such as public speaking and stock judging. In her spare time Heledd enjoys singing with Alewyd Llangwm, travelling and socialising with her friends.

During the forthcoming year, Heledd will oversee the work involved in arranging the Wales YFC National Eisteddfod which will be hosted by the Clwyd Federation and held at The Pavilion, Rhyl on the 19th of November.

Pembrokeshire Federation will host the event in 2012, and Joy will spend the year shadowing Heledd and preparing for next years event.
