Weekend is a dual challenge for Tim

Wales YFC chairman Tim John undertook the challenges set to him by Gwent and Ceredigion YFCs over the May Bank Holiday weekend as a part of his Challenge Tim mission.

Each of the 12 county YFCs in Wales have been asked to set Tim a challenge which he will complete along with members of each county to raise money for his charity of the year, Kidney Wales Foundation. The challenges completed so far have raised £7,600.

The bank holiday saw Tim undertake two further challenges - Gwent YFC's raft race along the river Usk, in which he teamed up with Rob Hoggins, Gwent county chairman to design and build a raft to race, and then Tim and Ceredigion YFC members took part in a sponsored leg wax at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llanerchaeron.

“So far I have completed five challenges. They have been an excellent way to meet members from all over the country and to raise awareness of the charity. My next challenge is the one set by Ynys Môn YFC, which is a raft race across the Menai Straight.”

Future challenges include a tractor pull, a treasure hunt with a twist, a journey up Cadair Idis and a mystery challenge from Pembrokeshire called “14 miles of hell”.
