North Beds YFC's bootiful fundraiser

Last year the club built a 10ft tall pair of wellies to raise the profile of YFC and raise money for RABI.

This year members revamped one of the wellies and took it to the East of England Autumn Show on 11 October to continue to promote YFC and generate money for the charity.

The club raised more than £80 and had a great day out.

Chase YFC presents cheque to air ambulance

Midlands Air Ambulance received a cheque for £1,500 on Friday 9 October, when members and friends of Chase Young Farmers’ Club held its annual presentation evening at Gayton Village Hall, near Stafford.

The money had been raised by Chase YFC at a charity auction held earlier in the year. Paramedic David Williams received the cheque on behalf of the service and gave an insight into the day-to-day running of the flying ambulance.

Stafford Conservative Parliamentary candidate Jeremy Lefroy presented awards to club members for their various contributions to the club during the past year.

He congratulated Chase YFC on its achievement in funding its own activities while also supporting the valuable work of the air ambulance. He commented that the values of community involvement and support practised by YFCs, the important contribution the whole agricultural industry could offer, and the determination of young people to succeed in whatever area of life they decided to follow would all be contributing factors to a positive upturn from the recession.
