Literally translated as ‘land youth’ Landjugend is the Austrian equivalent of YFC. During this trip you will be staying with host families connected to Landjugend and will spend time helping out with family activities and taking in the fantastic sights, food and culture. You will fly to Vienna and be met by a member of Landjugend before continuing your journey into rural Austria.

Language shouldn’t be too much of a problem on this trip, as most Austrians speak English as a second language – but learning a few words of German before you go would defiantly help you to make friends!

What the travellers say...

"I was lucky enough to be invited along with my host family to an Austrian wedding. This was a fantastic opportunity to see a traditional wedding service and reception with a marching band and choir. I even wore the Austrian national dress: Dirndl." Aimee Mahoney from Staffordshire FYFC visited Austria in 2011.
