What we do

The steering group is made up of regional YFC members who are focused on the personal development of members. The group look at ways they can improve the development and skills of YFC members throughout their time as a member. The group covers three areas of work including youthwork, training and the Discovery travel programme.

What have we done?

1. Supporting club programme activities 2. Promotion of issue based work – anti bulling, sexual heath, drug and alcohol awareness 3. Making safeguarding accessible 4. Development of the NFYFC Youth forum 5. Policy and resource development 6. Working with the British Youth Council 7. Providing accredited training for YFC Members 8. Development of the Curve modules for clubs 9. Improvement of members transferable skills 10.Annual County staff conference 11.Development of the travel programme 12.Promotion of the Discovery travel programme 13.Looking at new travel options 14.Partnership work with other youth organisations to provide opportunities for members
