Business Innovation Challenge entry information for over 18s

Entry information for 18 and over category

We are looking for business ideas that implement innovation for food production in 2032.

How to enter:

You’ll need to submit a business concept. You can provide written, video, PowerPoint or other media of your choice to convey your business innovation idea.

To enter, you must be a current YFC member and all entries must be submitted by December 31, 2025 by using the online form.

Your concept should:

  • Demonstrate your knowledge of collaboration, innovation, supply chains and environmental awareness for your future business innovation.
  • Demonstrate how your innovation will address local community issues, e.g. food security and environmental challenges. 
  • Demonstrate how you would engage with your local community and broader networks. 

Information you should include:

  • Vision – what is your plan and how will it evolve in the future? 
  • Problem solving – what are you solving and why? 
  • Innovation – how innovative is your idea, what do you plan to do and who will it involve? 
  • Business planning – do you have a plan in place? (only a brief overview is required) 
  • What are the financial plans for your idea? (only a brief overview is required) 
  • Training – what training do you and your team need to realise your vision?  
  • Confidence – how confident are you in approaching people and creating new markets?

Inspiration you might want to reference in your submission can be found at the Agri-Tech Centre and you can get support and information around continuous professional development (CPD) for you and your team from TIAH’s tools and skills for farming and growing businesses.
