John Lee OBE DL has been re-elected for a third year as President of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC).
John has been involved with Young Farmers’ Clubs since he was 16 years old, starting out as a member of Newton St Cyres YFC in Devon.
He progressed through the organisation in club and county roles before chairing the Agriculture and Finance committees of NFYFC before becoming Chair of NFYFC’s Council.
John grew up on the family’s beef, sheep and cereals farm in Devon and enjoyed the Public Speaking competitions when he was a member of YFC.
On his re-election at the 94th Annual Meeting of Clubs, John said:
“It’s such a privilege to be involved in the organisation but more importantly it’s a privilege to see members and the work they’re doing across their clubs and counties.
“Thank you to YFCs for re-electing me and thank you for the work you’re doing.”
During the meeting, seven Deputy Presidents were also elected, who included:

A motion from Kent Federation of YFCs was also passed to elect Alethea Snelling as a Life Vice President of the organisation in recognition of the dedicated service she had shown the Federation and in particular the South East Area.
Speaking at the meeting Alethea, who also helped to judge the Sydney Fawcett trophy at the AMC, said:
“It’s an absolute honour and I’m incredibly proud to be elected as a Life Vice President.
“My love of Young Farmers is about seeing Young Farmers do and achieve. It’s not about taking on a role and doing it for them, I think you need to get succession going and I really want to support members, even at this age, to do their own thing and do right by the Federation.
"It’s an organisation that is obviously close to my heart or I wouldn’t have been involved as long as I have, so I am very grateful and hugely honoured.”
