Society of Agriculture

Society of Agriculture launched – a new professional home for agricultural expertise

The Society of Agriculture (SocAg) has now officially launched.

SocAg is the independent professional body for agriculture, formed through the merger of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC) and the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM). Together, this brings over 60 years of professional leadership into a single, unified organisation focused on raising standards, sharing expertise, and strengthening professionalism across agriculture and rural business.

Ask the Expert is a service that enables organisations to identify and connect with specialist agricultural professionals across a wide range of disciplines, including land use, farm business, environmental management, planning, and rural development.

UK Agri-Tech Centre

The Agri-Tech Centre community was formed by a merger between three established the Agri-Tech Centres – CHAP, CIEL and Agri-EPI.

Together as the UK Agri-Tech Centre, businesses are given the help they need to propel agri-tech solutions to market which promote circularity in agri-systems and improve adaptability and sustainability..

The UK Agri-Tech Centre offers a complete life-cycle of support, driving agri-tech innovation and adoption through world-class facilities, expert knowledge and business support. It strengthens the connections between science, business and funders to accelerate research and development, tackling the agri-industry’s most critical challenges such as climate change, labour availability, disease mitigation and environmental sustainability.
