YFC Supporter of the Year

Winner: Andrew Body, Cornwall

Andrew’s commitment to the Cornwall Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs spans well over four decades.

During his time as a member, Andrew was actively involved with Praze YFC. He took on various officer roles within the club and represented it on County committees before becoming County Chair in 1992. He served on the executive committee for 30 years, contributing significantly to the thriving county it is today.

He has offered his guidance and expertise as a judge and steward for various competitions. He took part in around 15 Cornwall YFC WotNots, a record that he is rightfully proud of. These endeavours have collectively raised tens of thousands of pounds for multiple charities over the years.

In recent years, Andrew has taken on the role of Chair of the Staff Management Committee, dedicating his time to ensure the county office operates efficiently and effectively. His support for the staff working for Cornwall YFC guarantees that all members have access to the office and the necessary assistance.

His involvement extends to Cornwall YFC’s Golden Jubilee Trust Committee, which provides funding for members to access educational and travel opportunities.

He is also Chair of the Supporters Club Committee which gives financial support to members travelling to compete in regional and national competitions.

Andrew's support for Cornwall YFC doesn't stop there. As a parent, he currently backs Praze YFC, where his children are active members. He has generously made Truro Market, which his firm operates, available as a venue for YFC events and competitions.

Andrew is a truly exceptional figure in Cornwall YFC's history, being a member, volunteer, and supporter across numerous areas of the organisation for more than 40 years.
